2011
The beginnings of Vonken as a small clay oven in the forests of Lacuisine in the Belgian Ardennes (Adrien on the left in the photo).
2017
The infamous rusty pot belonging to Adrien & Sebastian, who cooked in it for an entire camp for 30 children in the forests of Chiny on the Semois in the Belgian Ardennes.
2018
With a few upgrades, an insulating jacket, and a wooden frame, the rusty barrel immediately became mobile.
2019
The rusty barrel makes way for a metal structure that characterizes the first contours of the current Vonken.
2021
Adrien and Sebastian sold the first Vonken line in stainless steel with insulation jacket from their garage on their webshop.
2023
Starting in 2023, we will be partnering with a retail network in Benelux and launching our new line of advanced ovens featuring our patented AirFlow technology in three models (Vonken Urban, Vonken Home, and Vonken Original).
How it all began
Vonken is a Belgian company founded in 2020 by two friends who once developed an oven at a scout camp to serve pizza, bread, and much more to the children. Today, Adrien and Sebastian build their innovative ovens for people all over the world.
The
process
After numerous carefully studied prototypes, endless experimentation, and cooking sessions across the country, our Vonken Original was born. Adrien & Sebastian found their way to the West Flemish metal industry, product designers with impressive drawing skills, and the Burgundian food culture of Belgium. Together with numerous local stakeholders, we continue to build the outdoor ovens of the future.
From a rusty barrel to a perfect oven
It started with our rusty barrel, in which we prepared our first pizzas, casseroles, and BBQs for our campmates, little aware of the fantastic cooking appliance we had in our hands. That's how we evolved into the elegant ovens that Vonken produces today.
