Did you know that there is a variant look of which you can simply plant the plant bulb in a shady corner of your garden? Bear's garlic (called 'wild garlic' for a reason) comes out in the spring, and unlike garlic, it's the long green leaves that we can eat. You can also eat the white flowers. So you can use these as a nice finish, and just like the leaves, they give your dishes a nice garlic taste. The vibrant green color and refined taste make this plant perfect for a tasty pesto. If you can't find wild garlic, or if it's the wrong time of year, use basil or get creative with smoked eggplant, for example. Let's go!
